So after all the bull shitting around with my bike dave and tam said lets go to the bar for a little chille and beers hey not a problem so we rolled out and just as we took the turn and could see the bar and i was grabing third, pop there went my clutch cable. Well needless to say here we go, Dave-o ran tam to the bar then came back ran kelly to get the truck and trailer they came back we loaded it up and headed to the bar for a cold one. As we all do, I asked dave-o about were to get another cable and his repley was, i really dont think i got one. So i knew kevin was heading to j-ville in the am so to put one and one together i called Gator an he had one and said he would send it down with kevin in the Morn. Well after the bar trip and then back to dave-o s. He went to digging in the spare parts box and after 14,849 cables later the bike was fixed and we called it a night.
The AM brought cool weather and the Armed Forces ride to the Beirut Memorial man was i glad dave-0 fixed the bike that night. Cuz kevin was running late because he missed a turn and helped out a broke down bike along side of the road. Well anyway we headed to the AF club house and got ready for the ride. And kevin called about fifteen min before the ride and was just getting in town and needed directions. Well along came Doc and then kevin so the crew was about all there and then we rode. I guess the point i am trying to get to is you get by with a little help from your friends, And dont never forget them and never take them for granted.
Dave-0 and Tam
Doc, Man every time i meet him he just confirms what a great guy he is.
Now the reason for all the riding and the gathering, To pay respect to the wall and all the names on it. It is really a humbling experience to be with all the men we were with that this wall and what happened touched us all in several different ways.
Well after the wreath was laid and some words was spoken it all really made you think man this was a major blow to the Marine Corps and this event changed alot of how things are done today.
Also to the side of this, Memorial wall for Beirut there is a new Vietnam Memorial that is a bit overwhelming All glass panels and a really nice fountain in the middle, I guess its one of them things like if i got to explain you wouldnt understand what these kinda places mean to me.
So the next time you are going down the highway to the beach and going through J-ville you need to follow that sigh on the by pass that says Beirut Memorial. You need to take time and go see it all.
